Our Carpet Fitting Services
Every job is quoted individually. The price depends on room sizes, the carpet and underlay chosen, and what the floor needs before anything goes down. We would rather give you a real figure for your property than a per-square-metre number that ignores the condition of your floor.
Supply and Fit or Fitting Only
If you want us to supply the carpet, we source it through established UK suppliers and can go through samples with you so you can see colours and textures in your own light. We also work with FloorShack, whose carpet ranges are available to Harris Flooring customers at discounted rates. You can browse carpet ranges on FloorShack before you get in touch.
Already have your carpet? We will fit it. Just speak to us before you order if you can. Getting the quantity right matters, and patterned carpet or awkward room shapes often need more than the floor area suggests because of pattern matching and seams.
Floor Preparation Before Carpet Fitting
Carpet hides a lot, but not everything. Lumps, gaps between floorboards and uneven screed can show through or wear the carpet from below, and damp is a problem for any floor covering. So we look at the subfloor before we fit.
Where it needs work, we can carry out:
- Screeding and levelling with high flow screed
- Plyboard fitting over timber subfloors to give a stable, even base
- Damp proof membrane installation where moisture is present
- Removal of existing carpet, laminate, vinyl, LVT and timber flooring

How a Carpet Fitting Job Works
- Get in touch. Call, email or use the quote form. Tell us which rooms need carpet, whether it is a home or a business, and whether you need us to supply the carpet.
- Receive your quote. We talk through your options, including underlay and carpet choice if we are supplying, and give you a free quote.
- Old flooring comes up. We remove the existing floor covering and check the subfloor underneath.
- Preparation. Any levelling, plyboard or damp proof work is completed before the carpet goes down.
- Fitting. We lay the underlay and fit the carpet, finishing neatly at edges and doorways, then check the completed floor with you.
